Other Hobbies

This week has been a lot of fun!
This weekend, a few of my young friends and I inadvertently went to the Silver Snail's 35th anniversary for our comic book shopping. Awesome!
Got a lot of the Authority Comics, which I love so dearly, and had a generally pretty enjoyable weekend. Interesting things happened.
Today I was feeling lucky, so I thought I might share one of my other hobbies:
I collect and distribute 4 leaf clovers! :)
The envelope is an art project I'm doing that incorporates that hobby.
Here are some pictures of some clovers I found today. Sorry for the blurry top photo, I couldn't focus the camera on them for some reason.

After I find them, I dry them, laminate them, and give them sporadically out to strangers and people who have helped me.

Finally, here are a few sketches from the weekend:
One from an AMAZING Sushi Bar we went to, Momiji Sushi bar. And some hands.

Kariya Park Sketch Session!

Had a great day today with my second year mentors Kimberly Luu and Al Jerek.
It was crazy cold but we did some plant studies before we headed home, I think I focused too much on textures though.

Fun day!

Info Meet Yesterday

Yesterday was SO much fun, but crazy tiring. Met some of my new classmates, and everyone was really cool-- which was great. The whole atmosphere of the school is generally welcoming and friendly, and everyone was pretty much like that yesterday.

Re-met Ventastic, whom I met at the first animation open house for applicants, god his sketches were intensely awesome. We seriously need to hang out some time!

Met a lot of new cool people, and I'm glad I've heard back from most of you already!
Hopefully we can all go sketch together some time, but I know some of you guys live pretty far out-- Hopefully we can figure something out anyways :)

Theses are some sketches from yesterday's trip, and a few doodles here and there:
(The picture of the people were done from a staircase in the bar we ended up collecting in to wait for parents after the tour... Perspective is off because I drew them separately and realized too late...)

Getting scared that all of my sketches are looking pretty much the same, so I'm gonna do more structural studies and probably some layout and environment studies. I think I'm getting better control of the markers, though.

Thanks and happy days!
